Since time immemorial, civilizations and ancient cultures have always relied on stones for medicinal purposes and to rebalance dystonic chakras or intervene on vibrations of negative energy. Fire and heat in general, have always been important allies for therapeutic purposes.

Combining these elements together creates the hot stone therapy, known since long time also in Italy as a massage with lava stones.

The therapeutic action is obtained by applying on the body basaltic volcanic stones, but also from the Ganges and from other rivers too. The stones slowly release their heat: from this point of view it is also important to consider the different effect of each type of stone: a smoothed stone release heat slower and evenly. Depending on the disorder to be treated, it’s associated with the action of the stone the appropriated massage and often the therapy accompanied by the action of oils or aromas.
